A comprehensive overview for charities of how to survive during a downturn with experts from various disciplines.

Topics will include:

    • Latest thoughts on the likely impact of the recession upon the sector
    • Ten practical tips as to how to deal with the likely impact of the recession, including risk assessments and scenario planning.
  • Difficult decisions in difficult times - understanding Directors' duties
    • How to spot the warning signs and when to take action

    • Your people - major asset/major overhead?
    • What are the alternatives to redundancy?
    • Redundancy - how to handle it fairly.
  • Property issues
    • The impact of the recession upon:
      • Charities as landlords, tenants and sellers
      • Purchases, leases and s.106 Agreements and how the recession could work for you
      • The quality of covenants and duties in relation to bank lending negotiations.

Speakers will include Nick Watson, Roy Butler, Stephen Ravenscroft and Hugh Pearce from Stone King Sewell LLP and Ian Oakley-Smith from PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP.
