Lawyer Elected To Charity Think-Tank
20th August 2008
Stone King Sewell LLP are pleased to announce that Stephen Ravenscroft, a partner in its award-winning charity team, has been elected to the influential executive committee of the Charity Law Association (CLA).
The CLA was established in 1992 to enable those who advise on, or use, charity law to meet together, exchange ideas and use their experience and expertise for the benefit of the charity sector. The association works closely with the Charity Commission and is now consulted by Government and others in connection with charity law issues.
Prior to his election to the committee, Stephen participated in several working parties for the CLA reviewing new areas of law. He follows in the footsteps of committee member Ann Phillips, also a partner in Stone King Sewell’s charity team, who is now CLA deputy chairman. Fellow charity team partners Michael King and Jonathan Burchfield have previously served as CLA chairman and deputy chairman respectively.
“I am delighted to have been elected to the committee of this influential organisation,” said Stephen. “The CLA plays an important role in helping to shape charity law in this country and championing the legal interests of the not-for-profit sector.”
